Turns out… We can’t ski ballet without snow. Monarch is closing early this season, so this year’s event is canceled. We’re already dreaming of a snowier return.

In 2025, Monarch Mountain hosted the inaugural Ski Ballet on Freeway, a fun, family friendly event celebrating the retro sport of Ski Ballet. We were blown away by the success and excitement of this new tradition!
Ski Ballet on Freeway received press from multiple publications, including two articles in Powder Magazine and day-of event coverage from Rocky Mountain PBS. We also saw competitors and Ski Ballet enthusiasts traveling from around the country to participate.
