kHEN’s all volunteer board serves in an advisory, oversight, and approval capacity. Board members are respected community members who are passionate about creating community through radio and outreach.

Abby Peters
Abby hails from Oklahoma, and has lived in Salida full time for 2 years, but her family has been enjoying the area for four generations. She currently serves as the Program Director for Chaffee County EDC where she focuses on policy within Chaffee County that impacts topics such as housing, water, education, and others. Abby joined the Khen Board in July of 2023 and is now serving as the Board Chair. She has a passion for local government, graphic design, and nonprofits. Abby loves to spend her time hiking, joining friends on the river, and spending time with her animals.
Elissa Regan
Elissa is an avid traveler and mom of 3. She has more than 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector and currently serves as the Senior Manager of Direct Response at the American Indian College Fund. Elissa joined the kHEN board in May 2023, and she is enjoying this time in Salida with her family. Elissa loves being part of the kHEN community, and was instrumental in planning and implementing our events in the fall of 2023.
Susan Jenkins
This chick moved part time to Salida in 2018 and is thrilled to be able to give back to a community that gives so much! Susan has volunteered and worked for a kaleidoscope of non-profits, in roles ranging from a worker bee to board leadership. She is grateful to be able to share the skills amassed doing so and her passion for community radio as a new board member. During her “off hours” - you can find Susan enjoying all our community has to offer - at the river, slopes, or music venues - alongside her spouse, Hank, her family (two and four-legged), and friends.
