| KHEN WEB-STREAM HELP The service that we use (www.shoutcast.com) will function with virtually any audio player (i.e. iTunes or SoundJam for MAC; XMMS for Linux; Windows Media Player or RealAudio or Winamp for PC & MAC). Special thanks to the folks at KRCC in Colorado Springs for offering us bandwidth for our signal. FIREWALLS: KHEN broadcasts on port 80. LINKS Try simply clicking the following link (your computer might already be configured for audio): http://shoutcast.krcc.org:8004/listen.pls STAND-ALONE PLAYER INSTRUCTIONS: LINUX Linux folks can use the X Multimedia System to stream KHEN. Grab the program at www.xmms.org. In XMMS, type Ctrl-L, and enter the following address: http://shoutcast.krcc.org:8004/listen.pls MACINTOSH Mac folks can use iTunes, Winamp, SoundJam, and probably many others. Apple's iTunes is a great choice for streaming audio. See the following example: In iTunes, open the ADVANCED menu, select OPEN STREAM and enter one the following address: http://shoutcast.krcc.org:8004/listen.pls iTunes will remember the stream. So the next time you want to listen to KHEN, just do a quick search of your library for KHEN and double-click. WINDOWS Windows folks can use Winamp, iTunes, Windows Media Player and many others. You can grab Winamp here. In Winamp, TYPE CNTRL+L, and enter the following address: http://shoutcast.krcc.org:8004/listen.pls Add KHEN to your Winamp bookmarks and you'll never have to mess with a pop-up box again. WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 10 Open Windows Media player. Click the tab on the top of the player that says "LIBRARY." Click the green "+" in the bottom left-hand corner of the player and select "OPEN URL" from the dialogue box that opens. Enter this in the box that pops up: http://shoutcast.krcc.org:8004/ Click OK. On the left side of your media player, find the link that says "OTHER MEDIA," and click it. Look for an item in the main window that says: shoutcast.krcc.org and double-click it. That should start the stream. The link in library listing should persist, so just go back to it and double-click it any time you want to stream us. WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 11 To get to the URL, you'll need to: If you do not see "FILE" in the upper left corner of the player, then click on the "Layout Options" and choose "Classic Menus." Click the "FILE" in the upper left corner, then click on Open URL. (or, use the shortcut Ctrl-U) Enter this in the box that pops up: http://shoutcast.krcc.org:8004/ |
