Executive Director/ Station Manager
KHEN is a volunteer-supported community radio station and media platform committed to building and supporting community through programming, education and outreach.
The ED/Station Manager is The key management leader of KHEN. This position is responsible for building and overseeing the strategic plan and all fundraising for the organization. Other key duties include marketing and community outreach.
Responsibilities of the ED/Station Manager, as they relate to the organization's goals, include, but are not limited to:
Financial Performance and Viability: Develops, implements and monitors progress towards short and long term fundraising strategy and goals.
Cultivates relationships with current and prospective funders, members and donors.
Creates staff/volunteer teams to implement fund drives and fundraising events
Assures that all necessary data on funding is collected and maintained.
Maintains oversight over all fundraising activities including grants, membership drives and fundraising events.
Is accountable for all underwriting sales and works with staff to assure KHEN’s performance of underwriting contracts.
Works with the Board of Directors in all development related projects.
Responsible for developing and meeting the yearly budget.
Board Governance: Works with the board to fulfil KHEN’s Mission and assures that the organization is run using KHEN’s Core Values.
Responsible to work with the board on strategic planning to carry out KHEN’s mission.
Responsible for fulfilling on KHEN’s mission by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic and non-profit organizations.
Responsible to work with the Employment Committee of the Board to hire and retain competent, qualified staff.
Attends and Reports to the board monthly on financial goals and projects as well as any other issues relating to the management of KHEN.
Reports directly to the Board Chair
Organizational Oversight: Make sure that KHEN is running smoothly and that staff is working collaboratively with the Board and Volunteers to fulfill our mission and financial goals.
Supervise and Collaborate with KHEN’s staff
Collaborate with the Chair of the Programming Committee to expand KHEN programming.
Report and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement policy decisions, fundraising and public perception of KHEN.
Delegate effectively and build a strong team atmosphere with staff and volunteers.
Serve as the public representative of KHEN including cultivating relationships with community members including prospective volunteers and supporters in order to build awareness of KHEN’s mission.
Bachelor's Degree required
Experience is fundraising, marketing and management.
Proven track record of raising funds from diverse sources
Experience in grant writing, management and special events.
Background in Community Involvement with knowledge of and connections to the funding and business community in Chaffee County.
Strong communication skills
Passion for the Mission
Strong interpersonal, supervision, and management skills.
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
Experience with Google Docs
Positive attitude, professionalism and sound judgement
Resourcefulness, creativity and strong problem solving skills
Non Profit Salary between $35,000 and $47,000 depending on experience. Part time option as well.
